skytron specialises in the development and production of software-based monitoring systems for utility

scale PV power plants. In March 2010, skytron introduced two innovative product solutions, a first-in-

market string current metering unit with approved accuracy for the entire operating temperature and me-

tering range of below +/- 0.5 % and skyControl, a true grid management control system meeting the re-

quirements of the BDEW (Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft/Federal Association of the

Gas and Water Industries) medium voltage directive which opens the way to smart grid applications for

large utility scale PV power plants (100 MW) by integrating them into the grid and providing power sys-

tem security.

skytron's Monitoring Software 'PVGuard' and String Current Metering Unit 'StringGuard' were awarded

the Intersolar 2008 Innovation Award.

Management intends skytron to continue to act as an independent monitoring solutions provider and plans

to invest in skytron's technology to deliver leading-edge solutions for skytron's current markets and cus-

tomers, as well as to address AEG PS Group's many industrial vertical markets and the powering of the

smart grid.

Energy Efficiency Solutions Segment

In its Energy Efficiency Solutions business segment AEG PS Group is a global provider of energy man-

agement solutions for industrial and commercial infrastructure, applications where customer requirements

necessitate dependable, high-performance solutions as well as telecom applications. AEG PS Group of-

fers its solutions in the EES segment in particular to the oil and gas, transportation, power generation,

power transmission and distribution, process and general industries and to the data & IT sector.

Energy Management Solutions

In its Energy Management Solutions sub-segment offers the following primary product lines which pro-

vide reliable uninterruptible power supply (UPS) solutions:

 AC industrial power line: Offers precise and reliable power conversion, filtering and AC back-up

functionality for a broad range of industrial applications across the division's end markets. UPS

capabilities in combination with other key power quality functions are used in applications to ap-

proach 100 % availability and clean (i.e. filtered) AC voltage waveforms.

 DC industrial power line: Provides power filtering and back-up battery storage for heavy-duty

applications, including oil and gas, transportation and power generation. These systems are typi-

cally used to charge batteries and to provide a DC voltage for industrial applications.

The breadth of custom and standard solutions and its systems expertise allows AEG PS Group to create

complete system solutions that address the full range of customers' power needs. As part of these offer-

ings, AEG PS Group partners with customers to develop system specifications, architect and simulate

application environments, provide highly-engineered solutions, and install, commission and service the

total system.

Selected total system solutions include:

 Overhead and On-Board Rail: AEG PS Group's on-board railway system solutions are inte-

grated into electric locomotives, high-speed trains, light rail vehicles and trams, subways and

buses. They comprise, inter alia, of chargers, rectifiers, converters, and batteries to convert power

from the overhead power lines from AC to DC and provide a stable power output for electronic

on-board devices. Additionally, AEG PS Group offers power systems to ensure the availability of

reliable power for railway infrastructure applications using overhead rail catenaries as a source of

energy. Applications include power system support for signals, track points and level crossings;
